For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost,
whether he has enough to complete it.
– Luke 14:28
For which of you, desiring to remodel your living room and children’s bedrooms,
does not first sit down and count the cost, to see if you have enough time to do it.
Okay so I flunked on that second one, and have been giving all my extra time to it.
But the remodeling is almost done, so I should be blogging again soon….
As a builder/remodeler, I can appreciate the time your project is taking. Hopefully in the end it will to the sanctuary effect our homes should be. I had a thought recently in relation to what I do. Some could look at it as excessive as we in the US have more than we should . . . but I thought about how God/Jesus has been working to provide a mansion for us. I think He will get goosebumps when He shows it to us.
The thought I had was that just as He has worked to provide a place for us, and will one day enjoy showing it to us, in the same way, those these dwellings are temporary, I can have the same sense when I’m working to provide or improve someone’s space here. We aren’t there yet. Here is all we have right now. I think it is natural and okay to want to enjoy it. (Can you tell I’ve already had my coffee?) So with all that in mind, I do hope your family enjoys your newly remodeled space – and you . . . feel good for having provided it for them.
Mike,
I have found great satisfaction is seeing the results of my work on the house. With so much of my work as a pastor, it is hard to see visible results. People change slowly and often in ways invisible. So I have enjoyed being able to actually see the very visible results as I work on the house.

Correct for me if you would like, in the first paragraph: it will ‘add’, and in the second paragraph, ‘those these’ should be ‘though these’.
Thanks
