The evil one and his host hate us. They hate our faith. They hate the church, our marriages, and our mission. That is why we must lean into Christ and pray for His resurrection power to strengthen us and empower us to live for God’s glory.
– Tony Merida in Exalting Jesus in Ephesians
At all events, we are not likely in this day to err on the side of praying too much.
If a man does not realize the dangerous nature of his soul’s disease, you cannot wonder if he is content with false or imperfect remedies.
You may judge of a man by what he groans after.
In Christ’s first coming, He implemented a rescue plan conceived in the mind of God before the foundation of the world. He did not come to promote holiday cheer, boost end-of-year sales, or serve as the central figure in a nativity scene. He came to save sinners.
The closer you get to Christ, the more you will hate sin; for nothing is more unlike Christ than sin.
[God] cannot change for the better, for He is already perfect; and being perfect, He cannot change for the worse.
Without a disciplined life you will stagnate as a Christian.
The eternity of God is a mystery far beyond the mortal mind. But it is not beyond our worship.
Real prayer, earnest prayer, is hard work. Satan has a special ill-will at praying people.
