I have been the pastor of a small town church for over 20 years. It is what I know. It is where my heart is. So one of the two purposes of this blog is provide ideas, resources, and encouragement to small town pastors and churches.

I wrote the Bible Journey OT Studies and Reflections to take our church through the Old Testament. We used it in Sunday School, but I imagine it would work just as well in a Bible Study too. See that page for more details.

I have a hard time finding closing songs that fit the message. So I often have turned to write my own using the melody of a familiar hymn. Feel free to use them in your church. See the “About” page for proper sourcing.

Then under this heading you will find ministry ideas that have worked at our small town church that might be helpful at your church.
