Just looked at your book list. I like Packer. One of my favorite books is ‘A Passion for Faithfulness’ by him.
Our pastor quotes Willard now and then but I’ve never read any of his books. The one you mention sounds like it would be good.
I think my favorite book from last year was ‘Hudson Taylor’s Spiritual Secret’. I can identify with the transformation he went through. Intriguing book.

Have enjoyed your comments on Piper’s book, ‘Finally Alive’. I went to buy it and was not in stock. Instead I bought a Dallas Willard book, ‘The Devine Conspiracy’.
This committed Free Will Christian can definitely and honestly recommend Piper’s “Don’t Waste Your Life”. Piper is better when his focus is on the Cross and not on Calvin. This is true of all of us Christians struggling to keep the focus on Christ and him crucified and not on man.
I love book recommendations! I’ve seen so many quotes from “Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life” by Donald Whitney over the last several years. I recently acquired a copy – I found it in the Goodwill bin for about 10 cents! Looking forward to reading such an often quoted book. JI Packer has so impacted me – like his Knowing God, and his book on evangelism and God’s sovereignty.
